One month

Public service announcement: should we see each other at some point in the next couple days I might burst out in tears. Becoming a sober alcoholic – versus a dry drunk – is so flipping hard. At least at this point. I’m hoping the words of others, that it gets better as you go, I’m hoping that will apply to me, too.

I long for an escape from my inside. Maybe this will prove to be a way to do that.

  1. Yup. It’s been my experience that it definitely gets better. Sometimes I feel I can’t bear the feelings (still), but I have ways to manage them (thanks to recovery) and I know—I know—it will get better.

  2. I can testify to how feelings SUCK. But, it is true that if ya wanna feel the GOOD, ya gotta feel the bad. The good news: never having to do it alone. And it DOES get easier.

      1. Everyone feels weak in the early days. Imagine that you’re reborn on the day you put down the drink/drug, cos in a way, we ARE. Don’t newborn babies need a lot of help?
It doesn’t make them weak. It just makes them NEW. 🙂 You’re doing just fine. Easy does it.
