As some of you have picked up from posts elsewhere I’m slipping back into active recovery. I’m going to meetings – several times a week, texting with a sponsor where I am, doing the work, and doing reading.
The readings in this second are what is important. Followed closely by the meetings.
In the reading I did today, in As Bill Sees It, I read the following:
“It is not always the quantity of good things that you do, it is also the quality that counts.”
It doesn’t matter I only have six weeks of active recovery this time. It matters I’m doing the work to find prolonged recovery.
Long sobriety isn’t the death knell to a person’s life like long Covid. Long sobriety is the hard work that leads to a less destructive pattern. So my sponsor says, so my community mates say, so I say.
This is possible. If I can even conceive of doing it you can do it.
