Car owner

What was never explained when we were kids is how much responsibility goes in to being a car owner. As a kid it’s all about getting the joy of driving around listening to whatever you want on the radio. You go to whatever stores you want to.You don’t have to answer to anyone in fact even your gas is paid for.

Then you become a car owner. Suddenly it’s all about cars’ inspection and maintenance. And filling the gas tank on your own. And choosing not to go to that store because it’ll take up too much gas.

I’ve run into car issues of my own this inspection period. An oil gasket needed to be replaced, looking at $350. Then yesterday my check engine light came on. I have no idea why, the guys working on my Jeep don’t have any idea yet, I don’t know if this is a fatal check engine light or a quick fix check engine light. Either way. More money than the original oil gasket needs to be spent.

I trust the garage I go to even though I’ve had a friend tell me not to. I’ve always had good service here and have never felt like I was robbed. So here’s hoping the only reason the check engine light came on was the gasket. And here’s hoping I still have another 100,000 miles on her.

Cars. Blessing and a curse.
