Here are some real contradictory facts about me. I hate being the center of attention, but I also hate being seen through or looked around like I’m not even there. Or taken for granted that I’m going to be wherever a body is needed.
I will say the last job I had was a lot of the bad, but the new job hasn’t gotten to that level yet. I’m grateful the people in my life outside of work who always make me feel like a person.
It’s one of those feelings you’re not always taught to look for in life. Now I do look for it and I’m so grateful for the new coworkers who don’t look through me. In fact instead of just saying, “Zeph do this,” they ask, “Zeph are you able to help me with X, Y, or Z?”
I’ll probably miss the prior paycheck for a long time, but I’m grateful I still get a paycheck every two weeks. I’m grateful the benefits aren’t as expensive as they were before.
Let’s just be grateful today. Think about something you’re grateful for so you can join my party and not be black in spirit like we were before.
